Voting Records

I decided that I was going to look into the voting records of candidates of this years election.  John McCain for the Republicans and Barack Obama for the Democrats.  As I looked through some of the votes, it became very alarming to me that Barack Obama has a 96.5% voting record with his party.  Only 3 other Democrats have a higher voting percantage then Mr. Obama.  This is a true sign that he is a left wing liberal voter.  Some examples of his votes are:

Vote 309: S 1927- This was vote to allow our intelligence agency the right to eavesdrop on foreign terrorists group without a court order.  In my opinion I do not believe that terrorists should have the right to court orders of the United States of America.  Mr. Obama feels different about that issue.  He voted NO on this piece of legislation.  This law also would have allowed the Attorney General the right to information on terrorists for up to one year.  This legislation is put into place to protect the lives of all Americans and Mr. Obama decided to vote NO and protect the terrorists.  This vote took place on August 3, 2007.  The legislation passed.

Vote 181: On the Motion- In May of 2007 a very interesting vote took place.  This was on a piece of legislation that would give 120 billion dollars to help aid the troops in Iraq and also set benchmarks that Iraq must meet to be able to obtain to continue to receive reconstruction aid.  I would vote yes on anything involves ours troops and to help secure Iraq for our military.  The interesting part of this legislation vote is that only 14 congressmen/women voted NO to the aid to the military.  Mr. Obama was 1 of those 14.  he even went against the opinion of his own party.  This bill did not deal with anything but the safety to the men and women who protect overseas and Mr. Obama does not feel that that is an important issue.  Another piece of legislation that passed, even with the NO vote of Mr. Obama.  Also, included in the bill was funding for the Gulf Coast region, Child Healthcare, Youth violence programs, HIV research.  So that means that Mr. Obama even voted against the domestic funding of the same country that he feels he can lead.

Vote 126: H R 1591: This is another vote where Barack Obama has shown where his heart is.  this last piece of legislation that I researched came in March of 2007.  It is bill that would have began the troop withdrawl from Iraq in the summer of 2007, with complete withdrawl happening in March of 2008.  If troops would have been pulled out on that time table, we would have be setting up a safehaven for all terrorists groups in one of the most resourceful areas in the middle east.  As time has passed since that vote, we are seeing a major change in Iraq for the good.  Even major world markets are now placing money in Iraq, that is a very good sign for us and the middle east.  Mr. Obama voted YES on this piece of legislation, but here is the most interesting piece of this bill, not only would their be withdrawl of troops, but it also called for the United States to give funding to Liberia, Jordan and Lebanon.  That is very troubling, let's do some research and find out how many terror groups are in those countries.  Another vote where Mr. Obama turns his back on America and the safety of all the American citizens and troops in the middle east.

If you like to view Barack Obama's full voting record you can find it at http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/o000167/

Mr. McCain's voting record will be examined and write up will be tomorrow.
